We held our fourth annual Duchenne Dash 5/10K on May 13, 2017. We were graced with perfect race weather, and we had a record number of participants at 600 runners, walkers, kiddos, and doggie warriors.
This year, we added food trucks to the festivities and they didn't disappoint. In honor of Mother's Day, we asked our participants to snap their photos at our #hugsfromoursons selfie station, to symbolize the importance of preserving muscle strength not only for the things we talk about most--walking, running, climbing--but also the importance of preserving muscle to do the simplest of things--brushing teeth, feeding yourself, and being able to simply give a hug.
We are blown away by all the support we received from our local Duchenne families, donors, sponsors, friends, and volunteers. Last year, we had 325 participants and raised $20,000. Our goal this year was 500 participants, and to raise $30,000. Because of our Duchenne warrior army, we raised $41,000 this year to #endduchenne!!
